Aurangabad Tours
Aurangabad town is established in the north part of the state of Maharashtra in the western district of India. It is 403 km from Mumbai (Bombay). Surrounded by hills,the town is on the banks of the Kham River. It has quite a few locations which can be of interest to tourists.
Bibi ka maqbara
Bibi-ka-Maqbara is a tomb that bears some resemblance with the Taj Mahal. It is a mausoleum constructed in the memory of Aurangzeb's wife Rabia-ud-Daurani Begum.
Panchakki
The phrase Panchakki literally means water mill. It is another foremost tourist attraction of Aurangabad. The mill gets its share of water that journeys through an underground channel from a source which is 6 km away in the mountains.
Himroo factory
The Himroo Factory is another major tourist attraction of Aurangabad. The customary Himroo fabric which is a combine of cotton fabric and fine gist is well renowned for its quality. Here you can find other textiles material of Himroo fabric and shiny threads. Interestingly, the concepts and patterns made on these fabrics are motivated by Ajanta frescoes.
Killa arrack
The citadel constructed by Aurangzeb in 1692 is mostly in wrecks now. At its peak, the citadel was capital of Aurangzeb where over 50 monarchs and princes came to his court. The Killa lies between the Delhi and Mecca Gates of the city.
Aurangabad caves
Lying 3 km to the north of Aurangabad, these caves were excavated out of a south opposite high ground edge overlooking the town. These caves drop into two assemblies about 1.5km apart. These are 10 caves pertains to the Buddhist era and were excavated between 3rd and 11th century.
Ellora
The world-heritage recorded cave temple of Ellora, about 30km from Aurangabad, are the climax of Deccan rock-cut architecture. There are 34 caves slash out of the slanting edge of a sloping hill. In recent times, another 28 caves have been discovered by the archaeological survey of India.
Daulatabad
13 Km between Aurangabad and the Ellora caves is the magnificent hilltop fortress of Daulatbad. The outpost constructed by Bhilam Raja of the Yadava dynasty in 1187 was previous called Deogiri. This outpost is advised as one of the oldest living and impregnable outposts of India with its chief attraction being the Chand Minar.
