Kanyakumari Tours

Kanyakumari Temple
Overlooking the seashore, Kanyakumari temple is dedicated to Parvati as Devi Kanya. The Hindu folklore has it that this was the location where the Virgin Goddess did penance to get the hand of Lord Shiva.
Padmanabhapuram Palace
Constructed with a strategic intent and boasting of military style architecture, the Padmanabhapuram Palace remained the seat of power for the Travancore emperors till 1790A.D. The citadel is well liked for its appealing aesthetics, attractiveness, innovative concepts and timeless wooden carvings.
Vivekananda Memorial
About half a kilometre away from the mainland, Vivekananda Memorial sat on one of two rocks separated by about 70 meters. Constructed in 1970, the monument is devoted to Swami Vivekananda, India's utmost communal reformer. This was the rock on which Vivekananda meditated in his quest to understand spirituality and enlightenment.
Gandhi Mandapam
Apart from the Kumari Amman Temple there is the Gandhi Mandapam, constructed in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi. The monument is said to have been constructed on the location where the urn bearing his ashes was kept before it was immersed in the confluence.
Suchindram Temple
Devoted to the trinity of Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma, Suchidram temple is just 13kms from Kanyakumari, The temple has an enchanting gopuram, musical pillars and an imposing statue of the Hanuman.
