Bangalore is a must visit tour destination in India. Popularly acknowledged as the 'Silicon Valley' of India, Bangalore is visited by thousands of foreigners every year. The Bangalore Palace is another fascinating place of tourist interest constructed via the Wodeyars in 1887 in Tudor style, replete with Gothic windows, thwarted windows, battlements and turrets. Hyder Ali presented the plan of this fabled botanical garden. His son, Tipu, brought many ranges of plants from all across the world and engrafted them in this garden. The garden today houses several thousand species of flora that include rare and captivating harvest of tropical plants, trees and herbs. Gangadhareshwar Temple. Acknowledged for its four monumental columns and extraordinary idol of Agni, the God of shoot, this temple was built via Kempe Gowda. An unparalleled phenomenon is witnessed here on Jan 14th annually as soon as the rays of the setting sun enter through the window; pass between the horns of the Nandi and shine on the Shiva lingam. Built in 1791, this lovely two-storied ornate wooden framework with delicately carved columns, arches and balconies was one of Tipu's favourite summer retreats. The castle, a not-to-be-missed traveller destination, is largely intact in spite of many battles prepared on this castle via the various armies.
