Rajasthan Forts & Palaces Tour
Day 01: Arrival in Delhi On Arrival, the representatives meet you and assist them at the airport and also transfer them to the hotel for an overnight stay. Day 02 : Sight Seeing of Delhi The day starts with breakfast being served I the hotel at 0900 hrs. From 0930 you are taken for sight seeing in Delhi. The places worth seeing in Delhi are Rashtarpati Bhavan, Parliament House, India Gate, Birla Mandir, Humayuns Tomb, Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid and Qutub Minar. While Old Delhi was built in the 17th Century by Shah Jahan, the Mughal emperor New Delhi was built by the British. After independence both new and old Delhi have grown radically. It is the political capital of India and stands as an example of a perfect mix of ancient and contemporary spirit. Overnight stay is in the hotel itself. Day 03 : Delhi to Udaipur Breakfast will be served at 0800 hours in the hotel. You will be transferred to the domestic airport to catch their flight to Udaipur at 0900 hours. At 1000 hours you will reach the airport and will check in. At 1305 hours the flight reaches Udaipur Airport where from they drive towards the hotel and check in. Places to visit in Udaipur are City Palace, the palace museum in Rajasthan. It has got some exquisite Art galleries, a miniature painting school, and the beautiful peacock Square. The beautiful city of Udaipur is clad with white marble palaces, attractive gardens, blue lakes, and green hills. Under the Royal patronage are run the best miniature painting schools of the country. Overnight stay is in Udaipur. Day 04 : Udaipur At 0800 hours breakfast will be served in the hotel and at 0830 hours you leave for sight seeing of Udaipur. You are taken on a sight seeing tour of Eklingji temple, the royal temple of the Maharana of Mewar and the Nagda group of temples of which only two remain that of the Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva both of which date back to the 7th century. Next comes Sahelion ki Bari which is a garden with fountain and a small palace. It was built by Maharana Sangram for his daughter. In the evening you are taken on a boat cruise to the Lake Pichhola. Then they move on to visit the island palace Jagmandir. It is said that Shah Jahan during a stay at this place was inspired to build the Taj Mahal. Overnight Stay is at Udaipur again. Day 05: Udaipur to Jodhpur via Ranakpur At 0700 hours, breakfast is served at the hotel and at 0730 hours you leave for Jodhpur while stopping at Ranakpur at 0930 hours to visit the Adinath temple. The Jain temples in Ranakpur were built during the reign of Maharana Kumbha in the 15th century over an area of 48,000 square feet. It has 24 pillars, 4 subsidiary shrines and domes that are supported by over 400 columns. At 1330 hours you reach Jodhpur and check in the hotel. Jodhpur is the second largest city in India and is the main trading center for camels, cattle, wood, salt, cotton and agricultural crops. A huge nine and a half kilometer long wall surrounds the city. The wall has 7 gates. The buildings near Sadar Bazaar are of richly carved stone. The Mandore gardens were the capital of Marwar. Overnight stay is in Jodhpur. Day 06: Jodhpur to Luni and back to Jodhpur At 0900 hours, breakfast will be served in the hotel and at 0930 you leave for Mehrangarh Fort. Situated on a steep hill, it is the largest fort in India. Only after crossing 7 gates one reaches the fort. At places the fort is 68 feet high and 17 feet thick. At 1530 hours you leave on a jeep safari to Luni, the rustic palace. Midway are the Bishnoi Temples. The Bishnois are a gentle community known for their reverence of wildlife. You can also have a look at the opium Ceremony in which the youth give Opium drinks to their elders when they are back from the fields. Overnight stay is in Jaipur. Day 07: Jodhpur and Jaisalmer At 0800 hours breakfast is served in the hotel. At 0830 hours you are taken on a drive to Jaisalmer. By 1530 they will reach their destination and check in their hotels. Jaisalmer city was built by prince Jaisal in 1156. You can move around the city on their own and shop in the local market. A car will be at their disposal. Night stay is in Jaisalmer. Day 08: Jaisalmer At 0900 hours breakfast will be served in the hotel and at 0930 hours you leave for sight seeing in Jaisalmer. Places to visit in Jaisalmer are Jaisalmer Fort, built by Rawal Jaisal, Patwaon ki Haweli, a 5 storey mansion and Gadisar Lake. About a fourth of the population of the city lives in the Jaisalmer Fort. It also houses the 12th and 15th Century of the Janise. It is said that the Gadisar Lake once used to supply water to the entire city. A courtesan had built the temples and archways aroud it. The Haveli has carved pillars and murals of Salim Singh. At 1530 hours you leave for Khuri. The sand dunes boast to be the only real large stretch of sand near the town. It is famous for its camel rides. At 1830 hours you can return to Khuri Village for some entertainment and listen to the folk music. At 1930 hours dinner is served in the Mud huts. Over night stay is in Jaisalmer. Day 09: Jaisalmer and Gajner At 0800 hours breakfast is served in the hotel. At 0830 hours you leave for a morning drive to Gajner. In the way is Bikaner which is also paid a visit. You get to see the Junagarh Fort that was constructed by Raja Jai Singh between 1588 and 1593. Overnight Stay is in Gajner. Day 10: Gajner and Ranthambore On the 10th day of your Forts and Palaces with Tiger Tour, at 0800 hours breakfast will be served in the hotel. At 0830 you leave for Ranthambore while paying a visit to the Gajner Palace. The Palace is built by the Late King Maharaja Ganga Singhji of Bikaner. It is situated beside at a lake. It is a nature reserve and is home for many a rare species of animals and migratory birds. Once you reach Ranthambore they get to check in their hotels. Overnight stay is in Ranthambore. DAY 11 and 12: Ranthambore Both the days are dedicated to sight seeing in Ranthambore which is done by traveling in jeeps and canters. Overnight stay is in Ranthambore for both the days. Day 13 : Bharatpur and Agra At 0700 hours breakfast is served in the hotel and at 0730 hours you are transferred to the railway station to catch their train to Bharatpur. The Bird Sanctuary in Bharatpur is worth a visit. It is home for several species of Pelicans, Cranes, Geese, Eagles, Ducks, Hawks, etc. In the late evening you proceed to Agra. Once you reach Agra you check in your hotels. Overnight stay is in Agra. Day 14 : Agra At 0600 hours you get to visit the Taj Mahal. It is the time of sunrise and the Taj Mahal looks marvelous at that hour of the day. One of the 7 wonders of the world the Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan in the loving memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. At 0800 hours breakfast is served in the Hotel. At 0900 hours you are taken for a full day of sight seeing of Agra. Places to visit are Sikandara, the tomb of the Mughal King Akbar, Tomb of Itmad ud Daulah, father of Noon Jahan. You can spend the rest of the day visiting the local market and shopping there. Overstay is in Agra. Day 15 : Agra to Delhi At 0800 hours breakfast is served in the hotel. At 0830 hours you leave Agra. By noon you reach Mathura and Vrindavan, the birth place of Lord Krishna. At 1900 hours you reach Delhi and are transferred to a local restaurant for Farewell Dinner.
