Festival Overview
The fort overlooking the river Chambal has a museum with rich
collections of art and artifacts .Chambal provides a fertile ground for
adventure and nature lovers. The Aravallis and Vindhyas, deserts, vast
lakes and wildlife parks provide a number of options to choose. One
could go boating in the Chambal river through the Vindhayan plateau or
do rock climbing or parasailing. The Chambal Adventure festival organized
for the first time was a success. The collector said the festival would
help to popularize the town as a new tourist destination and help in the
conservation of monuments and temples in the area. The Kota saris and
paintings are also very popular.
Information on Chambal Adventure Festival
The Chambal Adventure festival, organized for the first time on the
banks of the river Chambal in Kota brought together rich cultural
diversity, spirit of adventure and rustic charm of the Desert State. It
was a two day festival wherein Mr. Birla held a run for water
marathon emphasizing the need for water conservation. Other
features were folk dances, adventurous water sports, boat rides and air
sports like Para sailing. Grammy award winner Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt
and folk singer Ghazi Khan performed a jugalbandi of
classical and folk music. Visitors can also go on safaris, rural
excursions, trekking and rock climbing, sailing, boating, rafting,
fishing and even parasailing and gliding.
How to reach Chambal Adventure Festival
Kota is located on the N.H. No. 12 (Jaipur-Jabalpur) and is well
connected with all major cities by road and rail. The nearest airport is
Jaipur (240kms).
