The major places to see in Mandawa include its beautiful havelis, a castle, a temple, etc.
There aren’t as many tourist places apart from the exquisitely designed havelis and castles. Tourists embarking on a tour of Mandwa are understood to be proceeding to the Mandwa castle or stay in any of the havelis.
Mandawa Castle: Situated in the middle of the village, the Mandawa palace has now been altered into a heritage hotel. However, at one time the palace served as the house of the nobility. Built according to medieval style of architecture, the castle of Mandawa is adorned with attractive frescoes. The rooms of this castle are adorned with Lord Krishna paintings, superb carvings and astonishing mirror work. The Durbar Hall of the castle is home to several antiques and rare paintings. The other tourist enticements of Mandawa encompass Shalala Well, Thakurji Temple, Goenka Chattri, etc.
Havelis: There are a number of fascinating havelis in Mandawa, all of them adorned with attractive wall paintings. Some of the major havelis are: Hanuman Prasad Goenka Haveli: This haveli has a painting depicting Indra Dev on an elephant and Lord Shiva on his vehicle, Nandi bull. Goenka Double Haveli: This haveli, with two barriers, has its portico adorned with elephants and horses.
Murmuria Haveli: The paintings of the haveli encompass a train with a crowded train crossing, with crow soaring overhead. Another outstanding image is that of Nehru on a horseback, retaining the nationwide flag. Jhunjhunwala Haveli:The haveli is adorned with striking gold leaf decorated room.:Mohan Lal Saraf Haveli: The image of a Maharaja caressing his moustaches beautifies this haveli.Other havelis of Mandawa encompass the Binsidhar Newatia Haveli, Lakshminarayan Ladia Haveli, Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli and Chokhani Double Haveli, etc.
