Ghanerao Tours
Tours to Ghanerao are mostly religious in nature as the place is replete with Hindu temples.
Ghanerao is well famous for some Hindu temples. The most amazing temple is that of Gajanand. The temple homes a life-size sculpture of the goddesses Ridhi and Siddhi. On the either of the sculpture are the images of Lord Hanuman and Bhairon Baba. Then there is a temple of Lord Mahavira, dating back to the 10th century. Its architecture is pictorial, composed and dignified. Its sparkling placement in a distant, unspoiled corner of Rajasthan makes it an ideal location to stay for excursions to Kumbhalgarh Fort, Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary and the Jain temples of Ranakpur. There are many more excursions close to Ghanerao embracing Ranakpur Jain temples, Kumbalgarh Fort, Muchala Mahavir Temple, Kumbalgarh Sanctuary etc.
The Mahavir Temple, and temples of Laxmi Narainji, Murlidhar and Chabhiya are the renowned pilgrimage centres throughout Ghanerao. Other temples worth observing are Tapeshwar Mahadev and Charbuja temples. Narali (30 km) is a pilgrim centre of Jains.
There are temples of Baijnath Mahadev, Hinglaj Mata and Neminath on tiny hills. Ranakpur (I8 Km) is a must see destination for viewing the 15th century Adinathji Jain Temples. The 1,444 engraved pillars and sculptures are a spectacle to behold. Kumbhalgarh Fort (18 km) assembled by Rana Kumbha, the Mewar monarch, is a fascinating place to visit, having the Badal Mahal in it. The Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary has over a 100 kinds of wildlife. In the Kumbhalgarh sanctuary one can find the 10th century temple of Muchhal Mahavir. This Jain temple constructed during the matching time as the Ranakpur temples has the only idol of Lord Mahavir with a moustache, hence the name.
