Almora is located in the Kumaon territory of the state of Uttarakhand in North India. Almora is at the south of Uttarakhand State in India. Situated at an altitude of 1, 638 meters atop the open ocean stage, Almora bids breathtaking scenery of the majestic blizzard capped Himalayas.

It is a quaint township full of life, with a prosperous social inheritance and history. It is considered to be the ‘Artistic Capital’ of the Kumaon territory of Uttarakhand. Almora is encased by thick and opaque pine and fir trees. Rivers Koshi (Kaushiki) and Suyal (Salmale) flow along the habitation, giving it a very charming, postcard type look for first time visitors.The township of Almora is a very picturesque and beautiful hill station in Uttarakhand. It is a homogenous combination of colonial era heritage and modern infrastructure.

Almora’s history is as old as the Mahabharata, however the recent most accounts were    given by a Chinese pilgrim in the seventh century who elucidated   his  experiences while travelling through the erstwhile state of Almora  then known as ‘Brahmaputra’.Almora is a quaint and gorgeous little mountain place in the Kumaon territory of Uttarakhand. The hilly township is well-connected with greatest destinations of the territory through a web of thoroughfares embracing two countrywide freeways - NH 24 and NH 87.

The township of Almora has evermore been linked with mythology, legends and faith, all in one breath. Almora is full of gorgeous and aged temples with more accompanying myths. There are eight Bhairava temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, each one close to the submission openings of the city.
