India is a large country and its weather in India differs from place to place, when it is scorching heat in Rajasthan the climate is quite good in some hilly regions. Weather in India is very important for the tourists who wish to explore this country. The country with 28 states and seven union territories   has their own typical weather characteristics.

 The geography of the region is one of the key ingredients instrumental in deciding the weather.
As India is a sub tropical country located north of equator and surrounded on the three sides by the oceans and on the fourth mighty Himalayas in north, these things have a direct bearing on the weather in India.  The winds coming from the oceans affect the India Weather a lot.  

The winds of monsoon coming from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea also play a major role in deciding the weather in India. The south west and the north east monsoons are responsible for the rainfall in major parts of India. The Indo Gangetic plain is highly fertile and home to the major human settlements as this region receives good rainfall from the monsoon winds. The retreating northeast monsoon brings rainfall in the southern India in winters and it is often referred as ‘mango showers’.

 Weather of India depends a lot on these geographical factors which play a major role in determining the climatic conditions.  The magical land of India can be visited round the year, but the best seasons for tourist are spring and winters, when the Weather in India is very pleasant.
