Rajgarh Tours
Just 350 kms from Delhi is Rajgarh, the base camp for the magnificent "Chur Chandani Peak" trek. Situated in the lap of nature, facing the snow coated hill peaks, this trek provides not just visual splendour but also an unmatched thrill not found anywhere. Located just thirty kilometres from the picturesque Solan, Rajgarh is a pristine holiday retreat that is blessed with all-embracing natural beauty. Rajgarh has much to offer to the first time visitors. Lush green valley, dense forests, abundant flora and fauna and the fresh mountain air that greets you as you begin your trek through the mountains.
For the urban elite, Rajgarh is the perfect holiday destination owing to its dependable electric and water supply, good wireless connectivity and extensive coverage of road networks. However, Rajgarh’s laid back life style would allow tourists to spend a quiet and relaxed holiday. There's an old hilltop fort constructed by Pratap Singh, the founder of Alwar State. Rajgarh served as the old capital of the region till 1771A.D. when Singh arrived into the scene and made Alwar city as his capital.
The Fort Palace: The frescoes painted inside the walls of the Fort Palace still retain their original character. But a tour of the Sheesh Mahal within the precincts of the palace would reveal that the palace had a number of secret passages which were a necessary feature during emergencies.
The Rajgarh Picturesque Village: At the bottom of the hill is the little village of Rajgarh. It has a fairytale background with narrow alleyways and old havelis (mansions). Exploring these and the encompassing fertile gardens can be fun. It's none wonder that a British traveller explained Rajgarh as "a heavenly earthly paradise."
